SO WHAT IS MOM PROM?
Mom Prom is a ladies' night out that supports a great cause. This year we are supporting MentoringWorks of Hastings. It's a chance to get together, dress up, and go out dancing with friends. Mom Prom will be held at the C3 Hotel & Convention Center on Friday, May 17th from 7:30-11:30 pm.

Moms and their friends can wear their old prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses, or thrift store finds. Go out to dinner together and then come to the C3 Hotel and Convention Center for the big event: MOM PROM, a “prom”-style dance with a DJ, drinks, photo booth, and a raffle/silent auction. This is a wonderful night where women can dance the night away, have fun with their friends, and help a worthy cause.

There are Mom Proms all over the country, and we're so excited to bring one to Hastings! Go to www.momprom.org to read about the original Mom Prom ladies of Michigan.

So go look for that old dress in the back of your closet (or your friend's closet) and get ready to have fun while helping others.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

At MentoringWorks our mission is to cultivate transformative relationships that build a foundation of success for mentors, mentees and the community. Our vision is that all children can achieve success in life. Through our two programs, SchoolConnect and CareerConnect, we can help. SchoolConnect is a program where we match elementary school students with high school & college students for one on one mentoring time. Here students play games, do schoolwork, learn skills, and discuss school and life. In this last year we served over 800 students in this program. Our CareerConnect program pairs juniors & seniors with a worker in the community. Through their one on one relationship, mentees can learn about opportunities in the community, skills needed to succeed in different careers, and receive general life mentoring. Thru both of these programs we aim to create lasting change in the lives of students, and throughout our community.

Who is organizing Hastings Mom Prom?
Hastings Mom Prom 2019 is organized by Lydia Lough, Lauren Slaughter, and Julie Mullen. These three were looking for a good excuse to dress up and go out. Joking about a “Mom’s Night Out” turned into Hastings Mom Prom. Realizing that a good time could help more than just their sanity, they decided to turn the night into a fundraiser.
