Social change occurs without us really realizing it's happening. It includes the changes in human interactions and relationships that transform cultural and social institutions. These changes occur over time and have a long-term impact on communities like Hastings.

Have you ever wondered how social change happens? How do we pursue the kind of changes that help us address social problems such as poverty, illiteracy, gender inequality, domestic violence, and even seemingly personal matters such as addiction? Join Dr. Laura Logan for this workshop and identify strengths and needs in our community, learn how social change happens, then make an action plan to foster positive change right here in Hastings.
How do you register?
Pre-registration is required and limited to 25 people. HYP members and students pay $15 and everyone else pays $20 which will cover your registration and lunch catered by Fresh Ideas. All profit from this workshop will go to SASA Crisis Center in Hastings!
About Dr. Laura Logan
Dr. Laura S. Logan is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Hastings College. In her research, Logan examines a number of issues including inequalities, social movements, and violence against marginalized people. She has written several blog posts, been quoted in The Washington Post and The New York Times as an expert on street harassment, and published in academic journals. Logan is also engaged in work aimed at addressing social problems. She has a passion for justice and making education accessible to all.
